Explosion in Iran Kills 19, State TV Says

TEHRAN, Iran — An explosion from a gasoline leak in a medical clinic in northern Tehran killed 19 individuals, Iranian state TV reported Tuesday.

Authorities initially mentioned 13 individuals have been useless, however Jalal Maleki, a spokesman for the Tehran Hearth Division, later informed state TV that the toll had risen to 19.

The state-run IRNA information company quoted Mr. Maleki as saying the useless included 15 girls and 4 males. Mr. Maleki added that firefighters had rescued 20 individuals.
